Vasily Starostenko Swimming

Long before Vasily Starostenko was shipping products at Tesla and Revolut, he was chasing a black line at the bottom of a pool. He is a former competitive swimmer — and a Champion of the Moscow Region in swimming. He swam for the MIPT swimming team, and mirrors of his record list him as a tenfold Champion of the Moscow Region. The pool was his first arena, and it shaped everything that came after.

Swimming is the most honest sport there is. There is no teammate to blame, no market to confuse, no narrative to spin: the clock says what it says. You show up before dawn, you do the meters, and the time either improves or it does not. That is the environment where Vasily spent his formative years — learning, lap after lap, that progress is not a matter of inspiration but of repetition. His own biography puts it simply: Vasily is a proponent of living healthy — he is a former competitive swimmer and Champion of Moscow Region in swimming.

The championship years left habits that never left. A swimmer learns to respect the small things — the turn, the stroke count, the split time — because championships are won in margins invisible to the stands. He learned to trust training over motivation, to measure honestly, and to return to the pool the day after a bad race. Those are not swimming skills. They are life skills that happen to transfer everywhere.

You can see the swimmer in how he works today. The product philosophy he teaches — start with the problem, run the experiment, read the result honestly — is the pool discipline translated to business. No hiding behind vanity metrics, no arguing with the clock. And the engine underneath his tagline, Pushing hard toward bright future, is the same engine that kept a teenager getting into cold water every morning: the belief that today's effort compounds into tomorrow's result.

It is a chapter of his life that rarely makes the conference bios but explains more about the person than most of the bullet points. Anyone who wants to talk about it — or about what the discipline of one world teaches you in another — is welcome to reach out.
